Open to all US & International Dancers

Entries open now until Sunday, March 6th. 
Entries will continue to be accepted until Sunday, March 13th at 2X the registration fee. 
Any entries accepted after March 13th will be charged 3X the registration fee.

Morning Competition 

  • Primary, Beginner, Novice, Choreography
  • 8:00 AM Doors Open
  • 8:00 - 8:45 AM Registration for Primary, Beginner, Novice
  • 8:00 - 9:45 AM Registration for Choreography (bigger window of time to allow dancers to arrive a bit later)
  • 9:00 AM Morning Competition Begins
    • Choreography competition will begin immediately after Novice Trews concludes
  • Most Promising Beginner, Novice Awards
  • Cash Prizes for Choreography (max 1:30 length, email to [email protected])
  • Don't forget! We have fantastic raffle baskets, all proceeds go toward scholarships for dancers

Afternoon Competition

  • Intermediate, Premier Competition, Premier Challenge
  • 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Registration Open to Afternoon Competitors 
  • 11:00 AM EST Earliest Possible Start Time for Afternoon Competition
    • The afternoon competition will begin after the conclusion of the Morning Awards and a short lunch break for our faculty and staff but not before 11:00 AM EST
  • Intermediate & Premier 11&Under will dance Lilt (4), Fling (4), Sword (2&1), Trews (3&1)
  • Premier 12&Over will dance Lilt (4), Fling (6), Sword (3&1), Trews (4&2)
  • Optional Premier Challenge Dance
    • Strathspey & Highland Reel
    • Last dance of the day, all dancers registered for the challenge will compete in one group 
    • Cash Prizes, Perpetual & Keeper Trophy
  • Cash prizes to all premier age groups
  • Dancer of the Day Award (selected by dance points)

SUNDAY, MARCH 20th, 2022

  • 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM | Pre-Premier Workshop with Bill Weaver 
    • "Setting Strong Foundations"
    • Open to all Beginner, Novice, early Intermediate dancers
  • 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM | 2022 Championship Step Lecture & Dancer Workshop with Bill Weaver
    • Dancers will review and enhance their understanding and execution of the 2022 Championship Steps
    • Teachers are welcome to attend for a nominal fee
    • CPD credit will be available to judges
  • 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM - BATD Medals Tests & Professional Exams will be offered throughout the day (contact [email protected] to arrange what exams your student needs)

Additional Competition Information

  • Competition will be conducted in accordance with the rules of the RSOBHD and ScotDance USA. 
  • An aggregate trophy will be awarded in each age group except for Primary. Primary dancers will receive a keepsake gift.
  • Age groups will be determined based on number of entries. 
  • Dance numbers will be provided at registration. 
  • First to enter, last to dance.

  • Competition venue is approximately 30 minute drive from the CVG International Airport
  • The workshop/exam location is approximately 30 minute drive from the competition venue

  • Family Fun: places like Newport on the Levee, Rookwood Commons, Smale Riverfront Park, and the incredible, one-of-a-kind Cincinnati Museum Center in the stunning Union Terminal (1930s former/current train station, also holds the Cincinnti History Museum, Cincinnati Natural History Museum and is known for it's immersive exhibits).

  • Downtown Cincinnati Lodging
    • The Westin, The Renaissance, The Kinley, or the Hilton Netherlands are all beautiful options where you can really feel the history of the city
    • Downtown is pretty easy to get in/out of and is about halfway between the competition venue and Sunday's workshop/exam venue
  • Kentucky Riverfront Area, Covington, Newport Area Lodging
    • Aloft at Newport on the Levee - talk about family friendly! This fun hotel is connected to Newport on the Levee, a fun and exciting entertainment and dining destination right on the banks of the Ohio River. Check out the world-class Newport Aquiarium, check out a movie at the AMC Theatre, have an ice cream night at Cold Stone Creamery, and more! 
    • Boutique: Hotel Covington is located in a really fun part of town with really unique restaurants, bars, activities, and event venues. Check to see if a favorite band is playing at The Madison just around the corner! Call them to see if they're running any specials. 
    • Cincinnati Marriott at River Center - yes, it has CIncinnati in the name but it is actually located in a very cool part of Covington. Connected to the Conference Center, walk across the bridge into the beautiful, recently renovated downtown Smale Riverfront Park  where you can walk to one-of-a-kind restaurants, ride the ferris wheel, watch a street performer, and stroll through stadium alley where the Reds, Bengals, and FC Cincinnati all play!
